Your Birth, Your Story

We’re so grateful for all the amazing births we’ve been a part of and the strong parents who let us be a part of their journey

I cannot recommend Rebecca and Morgan enough, especially as a first-time mom! They were with me every step of the way during my prenatal care, labor and delivery, and after I brought my baby home. When I went into labor at 3am, they arrived at the hospital just minutes after I did and didn’t leave my side for 24 hours. They were attentive, calming, and the voice of reason when my husband and I felt like it was all too much to handle. Most importantly, they were available throughout my entire pregnancy to answer any questions I had and helped us after the baby was born while we adjusted to life with a newborn. They are a wealth of knowledge and I always felt comfortable reaching out for advice. I had a hard labor and delivery, but it was comforting knowing I had someone knowledgeable to advocate for my wishes when I was too spent. My husband is extremely thankful that we had someone to be with us around the clock who knew what to do, what to say, and when to help.

I am so thankful to have The Doula Duo as my doulas. They helped me achieve what I thought would be impossible—a positive hospital birthing experience. It was nice to look towards someone knowledgeable for advice on how to approach different situations (especially when they’re confrontational ones) and get awesome results. Rebecca and Morgan made sure I was as comfortable as I possibly could be and respected everything I believed in without judgment. They supported my every move. My boyfriend and I will always be grateful for their support during the delivery of our son and paying attention to all the smallest details that we otherwise might have overlooked. It was nice being able to text for advice about small silly things as a first-time mom. Definitely 1000/10 recommended.

Having The Doula Duo was an invaluable experience for me! We moved from out-of-state to the Rochester area in the middle of my pregnancy, during a pandemic, and I was in desperate need of local recommendations and advice. I was also looking for someone to help with my second labor and delivery experience, as my first one was less than ideal. Morgan and Rebecca were able to describe the hospitals, advise on OBs and midwives, and even helped me find last-minute childcare when I went into labor. I can’t thank them enough for this. My delivery was extremely quick, yet in the short amount of time there were still several moments where Morgan was able to provide comfort, advocate for me, and offer breastfeeding support after labor. She has such a calm and soothing voice along with a warm and friendly demeanor. From their counsel during pregnancy to their postpartum assistance, I can’t recommend them enough. I would encourage any new or experienced expectant mother to seek out Morgan and Rebecca as their doulas.

The Doula Duo are amazing and I can’t recommend them enough! We interviewed them on the phone first and they answered all of our questions honestly. We soon booked them for the delivery of our second son and discussed our birth plan at length. They kept in close contact as delivery day neared. My husband called them as soon as my water broke and they answered immediately. Morgan met us at the hospital as soon as I was admitted to the floor. Morgan and Rebecca switched off every 12 hours. They showed us different positions for labor as well as breathing techniques and massage. They reminded us that we had time to think when intervention was presented to us and could always ask for other options or more time before deciding. This was wonderful because I felt bullied into interventions with my first son. It’s nice to have people in your corner. My delivery ended up being an emergency c-section but they checked-in frequently. They also came for a postpartum visit and we discussed the delivery and how everyone felt it went. We felt so much love and support from both Morgan and Rebecca. We still keep in touch.

My experience using The Doula Duo was absolutely amazing. Considering I am a young, first-time mom and wasn’t able to have my mother in the room due to Covid ,we decided having a doula would be a good idea and I am so happy we made that decision. They were there every step of the way during my pregnancy and helped me understand what childbirth would look like and the many options available to me. They were open-minded and never made any judgments about my choices or pushed me in any direction that I wasn’t comfortable with. They helped me create a birth plan so I had a clear set of boundaries of what I did and did not want once at the hospital. They were great at answering any and all questions via text, and during zooms. If they didn’t know the answer to one of my questions they were always willing to put in the work to find the answers I was looking for. Once I was in the hospital giving birth, they not only helped me with pain management but they also reassured and encouraged me—this really added to my birthing experience. I’m so appreciative that the doula took photos (with my permission) as my son was coming out and during our first moments together. I will forever cherish these photos. I would 100% recommend them to any and all expecting mothers.

I came to Morgan based on the recommendation of a friend of mine who knew her. Upon meeting her, I could immediately sense her passion for helping pregnant, birthing, and postpartum women and their partners/families. I could sense her ability to nurture, be empathetic, and anticipate my needs. Morgan was available for so many questions as I prepared for birth and had several false alarms. When I finally was in labor, we found out my son was "sunny side up," and I had opted for no epidural. I had a short, but extremely intense and painful, birthing experience and Morgan supported me in every possible way. She also guided my husband in ways that he could help, and tended to him as he struggled to watch me go through so much pain. Despite my challenging birth, I stayed intervention free and had a beautiful and empowering experience. I'm truly unsure of how I would have been able to handle such a difficult birth without that extra support.

I've known Morgan since we were about eight. She's always been a comforting presence that brings positive vibes. When I found out that I was unexpectedly pregnant and began processing what I wanted my pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum journey to look like, she met me with endless information and support. I felt strongly that I wanted to try to have a vaginal birth with no medication and Morgan worked with me to understand all of the possibilities and choices that I could face. She helped me develop a birth plan that I felt comfortable with, and I truly went into labor feeling strong, informed, and supported. I went into labor just as the pandemic hit. One day later and she would not have been able to be with me. I am forever grateful that she was. Her presence allowed my partner to feel a calm and focus on me. She helped me with breathing and finding different positions, and when it came time to push, she cheered me on. She did some stretches and put pressure on my back and hips that felt like MAGIC. During such an overwhelming and intimidating process, it was such a relief knowing that we had her there for support, direction, and advocacy. Morgan helped make my pregnancy and birthing process empowering. She'll be a part of baby number two, without question!

I didn’t commit to wanting a Doula until I was 37 weeks pregnant. After a quick search on Facebook, I saw that Morgan and Rebecca were highly recommended by many local moms who were happy with their services. I wasn’t sure if it was too late in my pregnancy to even hire a Doula, and of course I probably could’ve benefited from finding them earlier, but I’m super glad to have found them when I did. They came to my house for an introduction, and to discuss what I wanted my birth to look like. They gave me tips for the weeks leading up to my due date on how to get the baby to change positions, gave me ideas for natural pain management, and were fully supportive and optimistic of my desire for a VBAC. When I was in labor, they were fantastic. Rebecca came right to my house when my husband called, helped me through contractions at home, and accompanied us to the hospital when the time came. Morgan came to relieve Rebecca (the great thing about having two - always a fresh, well-rested doula to best help you) and was there when labor got intense. She knew what I needed, and was super supportive to both me and my husband. The two of them have magical contraction hands that counteract the pressure and make contractions less painful. They also include a postpartum visit—it was super nice to reconnect with them once we were home from the hospital. My husband was so grateful for their support! We couldn’t have asked for more.

I cannot say enough positive words about Morgan and Rebecca. They provided me the most caring, unbiased postpartum support. From text messages while I was in the hospital to random late-night questions, they were always there. I looked forward to their weekly visits where they helped me feel like I had it all together, even on the most difficult days. I immediately felt comfortable with them in my home to help care for me and my daughter. Their passion for caring for women and empowering moms shines in their eyes. Thank you so much for what you do, you’re absolutely incredible.
